History of MCECI

HUMBLE BEGINNINGS

In the midst of unprecedented challenges brought forth by the global pandemic, communities around the world have demonstrated resilience, compassion, and solidarity in overcoming adversity. One such shining example of community spirit emerged, where a group of dedicated individuals- Kuya Ed Catarongan Sr., Kuya Dave Lerio, Kuya Ronald Elpa and 25 other founding members- came together to form the Mandaue City Eagles Club, Inc. in 2020 since there was no Eagles fraternity that was set up for Mandaue City.

he inception of the Mandaue City Eagles Club, under The Fraternal Order of Eagles, amidst the pandemic was not merely coincidental but a testament to the power of human connection and the innate desire to uplift others in times of need. As the COVID-19 crisis unfolded, leaving many vulnerable individuals and families grappling with economic hardships, isolation, and uncertainty, the founders of the Mandaue City Eagles Club recognized the urgent need for a collective effort to provide assistance to those affected.

With a shared vision of serving their community and fostering a sense of solidarity, the founders of the Mandaue City Eagles Club swiftly mobilized their resources, networks, and expertise to establish a platform for charitable initiative. Hence the founding members of Mandaue City Eagles Club, Inc. were first chartered on October 24, 2020. This then grew to 37 members in 2021 and is now over 50 active “kuyas” in 2024.

From organizing relief drives to distributing essential supplies, dental missions, blood drives, the Mandaue City Eagles Club emerged as a lifeline for “The Last, The Least, and the Lost” of society. Through acts of kindness, empathy, and solidarity, MCECI did not only provide tangible assistance but also instilled a sense of hope, resilience, and belonging within the community. Looking ahead, the Mandaue City Eagles Club remains steadfast in its commitment to serving the community, fostering a culture of philanthropy, and championing the values of compassion, solidarity, and resilience.
